so great i grew up in this era because AIM was fucking awesome

you know they were the shit. because you had to like totally update people on your life every five seconds... shower....brb or dinner! or youd put song lyrics

2. customizing your profile

turquoise background, pink letters THIS SHIT GOT REAL literally it was like a competition to see who could create the best profile. dont forget to leave out all your besties!! s.c. j.m. a.l. c.w. j.r (LOL) hope i didnt forget anyone! no order!!

3. screennames

obvs got to create your own screenname if you wanted to know mine was gymnastxoLN (something like that) soooooo gay like xo wtf who am i?? it was such a bitch when you changed screennames you always had to go back and forth and re ad people and notify them of your sn change and you obvs put it in your profile lol

4. buddy lists

besties, dudes, gals..obvs customized them along with the sounds that indicated whether they came online or went offline lol omg aim was so awesome

5. so cheesy

aim: the birthplace of middle school relationships since 2002. we all know it. the butterflies in your stomach when your crush logged on hoping he would IM you!!!! obvs freaked out when he did...

now we have stupid facebook IM and its just not the same and facebook is taking over the world!
